Design Development

Rizenhaus is designed to encourage an immersive experience in the surrounding landscape with large vistas. The form was compressed on all sides to create a form which shaded it's large windows from harsh thermal gain.

Site Orientation

The Rizenhaus bedroom was placed on the east to capture the morning sunlight; while the meditation room was placed on the west to view the evening sunset. The kitchen and living room are placed central in the floor plan to encourage connection between users.

Light wood tones, marble, and metal accents are used throughout the Rizenhaus to encourage a meditative or Zen atmosphere.
